They stitch the past, the present, and the future into a seamless eternal fabric, and bind all beings and nature into a single and unified perpetual field of energy! This presentation is a celebration of the Vedas by articulating and accentuating the vital characteristics in each Veda through interpretive performance using a repertoire of Indian Dances, both classical and modern
The Program This unique and one of a kind program is the brain child of the well known artist Roopa Iyer. She interprets the complex subject of Vedas through the language she knows best - music and dance - that transcends geography and languages! Along with a half dozen performers, Roopa Iyer, delivers this two hour program, that engages the audience as it takes them through a journey of time in a medley of various dance forms set to myriad musical scales, elaborating and accentuating "oneness" of human with nature. The US part of the World Tour 2007 is scheduled for August through October. We welcome organizations to schedule this unique performance at the earliest. The Artist Roopa Iyer (http://www.roopaiyer.com/) - a humanitarian, philanthropist, dancer, actress, and a model had humble beginnings dating back to 1990, when 11 year old young Roopa started a dance academy in Bellur (a small town in South India) for young girls. Five years later, she moved to Bangalore with her family and started a dance academy that not only extended dance lessons to include multiple classical disciplines but started producing and coordinating events. The Charity Roopa, an ardent supporter of a multitude of charitable activities in Karnataka is also the founder of "Namma Mane", a special trust that is geared toward special women, senior and mentally challenged, who are in need of basic life necessities. Roopa Iyer is the co-founder of India Classic Arts, a global performance arts production company. ***** |
