To: Ravi Harsoor Anil Deshpande Sunil Kulkarni Annapur Shivakumar Godavari Patil Girish Ramamurthy Shilpa Nagasamudra Dear Sir/Madam: Vidyaranya Kannada Kuta Election Committee 2007 conducted the elections for the positions of Standing Committees during the General Body Meeting held on December 1, 2007. Lingaraju Seconded - Kishore Channabasavaiah As per the Vidyaranya Kannada Kuta Constitution and By-laws, the only requirement to become a Standing Committee member is to be a “member in good standing” (See ARTICLE VIII, Section 6 and ARTICLE III, Section 7 of the Vidyaranya Kannada Kuta Constitution and By-laws). For all the positions of the Standing Committees, nominations were made on the floor. Due to the large number of floor nominations, the limited time allocated to conduct the Elections, and some confusion about the members in good standing for the Standing Committees, a committee member had not verified the 2006 memberships for the floor nominations received for the Standing Committee members during the VKK Election on Dec. 1st, 2007. The Election Committee reported to the General Body that all floor nominated members were elected unanimously to the respective committees. Subsequent to the election, it was noticed that some of the Standing Committee members who got elected by the General Body on Dec. 1st for the year 2008 were not a VKK members in 2006 and as per the VKK constitution, are not members of VKK in good standing and hence are ineligible for the 2008 Election. Therefore, the election committee is hereby informing you that the previous declaration of Election results for the Standing Committees for 2008 is NULL & VOID and the amended results are as follows: The Election Committee - 2008 1. Shrishail Virupannavar - Elected 2. Ravi Harsoor - Ineligible 3. Kajekar Ramachandra - Elected The Internal Audit Committee - 2008 1. Narayan Kamath - Elected 2. Anil Deshpande - Ineligible 3. Deepak Bangalore - Elected The Charitable Fund Committee -2008 1. Sunil Kulkarni - Ineligible 2. Annapur Shivakumar - Ineligible 3. Godavari Patil - Ineligible 4. Shankar Hegde - Elected 5. Girish Ramamurthy - Ineligible 6. Shilpa Nagasamudra - Ineligible 7. Nandish Dhananjaya - Elected The Election Committee has informed this to the VKK President and suggested to conduct another election during next General Body meeting or VKK program for these positions. We also recommended an amendment to the VKK constitution that floor nominations should be removed and suggest to receive nominations in written at least 2 days before the Election, so that the Election Committee members have time to verify the nominations before accepting them for the election. The election committee regrets this inadvertent mistake. If you are not satisfied with this decision by the Election Committee-2007, we recommend you to approach the General Body per ARTICLE VIII Section 2 of the Vidyaranya Kannada Kuta Constitution and By-laws.
