Message from Chair, VKK Charitable Fund Committee 2016

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - by unknown.

“There are two kinds of people in the world: givers and takers. The takers may eat better, but the givers sleep better.” – by unknown.

Vidyaranya Kannada Kuta Charitable Fund(VKKCF) – a 501© organization has supported more than one hundred organizations in Karnataka, India and USA since its formation in 1993 with the support and contribution by several members like you. We have been making difference in the lives of the truly deserving and needy people both in India, and USA.

Last year committee raised funds for ‘Vision 2020' to help school organizations for giving quality education to the needy. We distributed to four organizations - Sewa International USA, JGRV School, Bangalore, India, IDL Blind School, Bangalore, India, Udayam Charity, Bangalore.

This year we would like to continue in the same lines of giving quality education to the needy following 'Vision 2020' dream of our beloved great human being Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam by recognizing organizations who are genuinely helping kids to attend schools and avoid child labor. Let's all contribute and make this vision and great cause a successful one.

This year 2016, we would like to identify rural schools and provide basic classroom amenities. In addition to this would also like to improve and supply first aid medical supplies. Few of our members had already contributed towards this great cause and we look forward for generous contributions by groups of people, families, and individuals like you to combine and donate at least for one school which would cost about $500. Our goal for this effort is to raise enough funds to support and provide to at least 60 schools. We assure you that your money will be channeled through the right organizations for the effective use of donations.  The names of the donors/groups who contribute $500 will be recognized and announced during our event. The other activities that VKKCF also supports are women’s empowerment, children’s education, old age homes, emergency relief during natural disasters, supporting physically challenged people etc. In the past we have provided donations to Red Cross, Apna Ghar in Chicago, Sewa USA, Indian Association for the Blind, and many other organizations. VKKCF has a process for selecting the right NGO, and make sure they are accredited by the Government to receive funds and in most cases VKK members recommend the recipients.

VKKCF works through diverse avenues to raise funds, such as Music concerts, Cultural programs, Drama/Skits to name a few. Lastly I would request one and all to be part of this great cause and donate whatever you could and also tell us how to improve ourselves and work towards achieving our goals.

Hope you all can attend VKKCF 2016 group event, and looking forward to meet you.

 Cheers,

Prakash Madadakere – Chair, VKKCF- 2016
